Welcome to our Player Information Page, where we celebrate the beautiful game of soccer for all ages! Whether you are a curious preschooler just starting to explore the world of soccer, an enthusiastic player under 6, or a seasoned athlete over 55, there’s a place for you here.

Join us in this journey where every kick, pass, and goal contributes to a lifelong passion for soccer!

Registration for the 2025 Season opens in January, and Preseason activities start in February.

RegistrationRegistration is online. Before you start you’ll need to get a passport style photo (you can take it with your phone).

Fees Breakdown​

The percentage varies between age groups but approximately:

  • Football Australia 11%

  • Member Federation: 13%

  • NWSF Association: 51%

  • NRS Club: 25% (goes toward council fees, support coaches, equipment, game shirts, training ball, team kits)

Eg. Under 6s fee breakdown is

$15 + $18.50 + $71.04 + $35.46 = $140

Age Eligibility

Pre-School Program - Recommended for ages 3-5 years old Under 6s is for children who are turning 5 or 6, on or before 31 December. Under 7 is for children who are turning 5, 6 or 7 any day in the 2025 Calendar Year.  ​Under 8s is for children who are turning 6, 7 or 8 on or before 31 December..  Under 9s is for children who are turning 7, 8 or 9 on or before 31 December.  ​Under 10s is for children who are turning 8, 9 or 10 on or before 31 December.  Under 11s is for children who are turning 9, 10 or 11 on or before 31 December.  Under 12s is for children turning 10, 11 or 12 on or before 31 December. Under 13s is for children turning 11, 12 or 13 on or before 31 December. Under 14s is for children turning 12, 13 or 14 on or before 31 December. Under 15s is for children turning 13, 14 or 15 on or before 31 December. Under 16s is for children turning 14, 15 or 16 on or before 31 December. Under 18s is for children turning 16, 17 or 18 on or before 31 December. Under 21s is for any player turning 19, 20 or 21 on or before 31 December. All Age, Super League and Premier League - Open to all ages. Recommended for ages 16+. Overs - Player must have turned the Over Age by 31st Dec the previous year. E.g. For Over 30s in 2025, the player must have turned 30 on or before the 31st Dec 2024.

NWSF Association Regulations V1.8 PLAYER REGISTRATION This Clause requires that all players are registered with the Association. It defines the eligibility criteria for registering in a team, how players register for that team, and how a player may be reregistered with another team. 5.1 AGE ELIGIBILITY 5.1.1 Open Age Grades 5.1.1.1 All players, regardless of date of birth, are Age Eligible for the open age grades, i.e. All Age, Premier League and Super League. 5.1.2 Under Age Grades 5.1.2.1 To be eligible to play in “under age” grades, a player must be under the relevant age on the 31st December of the previous year. 5.1.2.2 Players registering for non-competitive Under Age football must have turned four (4) years old by, or on, the 31st December in the previous year. 5.1.3 Over Age Grades 5.1.3.1 To be eligible to play in “over age” grades, a player must be over the relevant age on 31st December in the previous year. 5.1.4 Age Eligibility Exemptions 5.1.4.1 For Women’s Over 30 teams, the Club may register a maximum of one (1) player who is 28 years of age or over, on or by 31st December the previous year. 5.1.4.2 For Mixed Over 35 teams, the Club may register a maximum of one (1) player who is 33 years of age or over, on or by 31st December the previous year. 5.1.4.3 For Mixed Over 45 teams, the Club may register a maximum of two (2) players who are 42 years of age or over, on or by 31st December the previous year. 5.1.4.4 For Women’s Over 40 teams, the Club may register a maximum of three (3) players who NORTH WEST SYDNEY FOOTBALL LTD COMPETITION REGULATIONS V1.8 29 JANUARY 2024 14 are 37 years of age or over, on or by 31st December the previous year. 5.1.4.5 For Mixed Over 55 teams, the Club may register a maximum of four (4) players who are aged 50 years of age or over, on or by 31 December the previous year. 5.1.4.6 For Mixed Masters (Over 50) teams, the Club may register a maximum of three (3) players who are aged 45 years of age or over, on or by 31 December the previous year. 5.1.4.7 For Women’s Masters (Over 40) teams, the Club may register a maximum of two (2) players who are aged 38 years of age or over, on or by 31st December the previous year. 5.1.4.8 For Over Age grades eligible for exemptions as per Clause 5.1.4, a club may request dispensation for more players in Women’s O40 teams and in Mixed O45 (only if no Mixed O55 teams) and Mixed O55 teams only. This shall be considered for approval by both the Grading Committee and DM.

Game Format​​​​

The format for Under 6 and Under 7s soccer, has 4 players on the field from each team. There is NO goal keeper. The field size for U6/ U7 soccer is 1/8th of a full sized soccer field.

The format for Under 8 and Under 9s soccer, has 7 players on the field from each team. This includes a goal keeper.

The field size for U8 and U9s is a quarter of a full sized field.

The format for Under 10 and Under 11s soccer, has 9 players on the field from each team. This includes a goal keeper.

Team Roles

​In addition to players teams need volunteers to run. Without a registered coach, NWSF will not register the team to the competition.

​A minimum of one volunteer to coach the kids and a second to manage the team.

Games

There are a few different competitions run by NWSF. Including a Saturday Mixed Comp which is for both boys and girls and a Sunday Girls Comp.

 

Saturday Comp (Mixed)

Our home ground is Magdala Park, Field 2. You can expect to have approximately half of your games there. The other half will be within a 20 minute drive of North Ryde. 

Games are usually between 8:00am and 12:30pm. They go for 45 minutes (20 minute halves, 5 min half time break)

 
Sunday Comp (Girls)

Our home ground is Magdala Park, Field 2. You can expect to have a couple of your games there. Games are also frequently scheduled at Morrison Bay Park and Meadowbank Park. Generally games will be within a 20 minute drive of North Ryde. 

Game times vary throughout Sunday but are usually between 8:00am and 2:30pm. They go for 45 minutes (20 minute halves, 5 min half time break)

 

Girls are welcome to join a team in both comps. For duel registration contact the club registrar or age coordinator. 

Training

​Under 6 to Under 9 training is located locally at one of our home grounds. For U6 - U9 teams training is cooperative. Teams are lead by coaches, however the training sessions are setup and designed by a coaching support team.

Under 10/ U11 training is located locally at one of our home grounds. For U10 and up all training is scheduled/ designed and run by the team coach.

Uniforms

Every player must have a club uniform to take the field on game-day. It includes a soccer game jersey, shorts, socks, shin pads and soccer boots. Game Jerseys do not need to be purchased by the player. They are issued by your team manager before the first game, and will be collected and returned to the club by your team manager on the day of the last game. The Game Jersey’s are only to be worn for games. The must not be worn to training. 

Club Shorts and Socks will need to be purchased from our Merchandise Store.

Shin pads and Soccer boots must be worn at every game. These can be purchased from any sports store. 

The colour and design of the uniform varies between age groups and competitions, so check below to ensure you are ordering the correct uniform.
